October 2011 saw the launch of The Book of Unwritten Tales in English, over two years later than the original German language version. The game scored highly across the board and now the prequel is here.

The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles allows you to play as both Nate and Critter and shows how they first met. The game travels from the Northlands to the Mage’s Tower of Seastone and players get to meet new characters along the way; animal rights activist Petra, a schizophrenic Yeti and the Critters.

The Critter Chronicles is a stand-alone game and so no previous knowledge of the original is needed. Newcomers to the game may even prefer to play this one and then continue on to The Book of Unwritten Tales.

We’re extremely excited to give players who enjoyed playing BoUT the chance to extend the story and go back to the beginning of the tale. The game is packed full of charm that will not only appeal to adventure and fantasy gamers who have played the game before but also those who haven’t.” Reinhard Pollice, Business & Product Development Manager Nordic Games.

The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles is available now for PC, MAC and LINUX from Steam and has 20% off until December 12th making the standard version £14,39 and the Collector’s Edition £15.99
