Earlier this week we brought you the list of Xbox One launch day titles, so how does that stack up with games available for the PS4 at it’s release date of 29th November in Europe and 15th November in the US?

  1. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Ubisoft
  2. Battlefield 4 – DICE
  3. Blacklight: Retribution – Zombie Studios [F2P]
  4. Call of Duty: Ghosts
  5. DC Universe Online – Sony Online Entertainment [F2P]
  6. DriveCLub – Evolution Studios
  7. FIFA 14 – EA Sports
  8. Just Dance 2014 – Ubisoft
  9. Killzone Shadow Fall – Guerilla Games
  10. Knack – SCE Japan Studio
  11. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – TT Games
  12. Madden NFL 25
  13. Minecraft – 4J Studios
  14. NBA 2K14 – Visual Concepts
  15. NBA Live 14 – EA Sports
  16. Need for Speed: Rivals – Ghost / Criterion
  17. The PlayRoom – Sony [Bundled]
  18. Resogun – Housemarque
  19. Skylanders Swap Force – Vicarious Visions
  20. Tiny Brains – Spearhead Games
  21. Warframe – Digital Extremes [F2P]
  22. War Thunder – Gaijin Entertainment [F2P]
  23. Watch_Dogs – Ubisoft Montreal

Overall there aren’t many stand out games to differentiate between Microsoft and Sony’s day one presence. Where Sony may pull ahead is the addition of several great F2P games, including Warframe, which I loved and War Thunder. Indie games will be extremely important to the PS4 and a comprehensive list can be found on IGN.

With the biggest 3rd party games of the year available on both platforms the shape of next gen will come down to preference and price. At the moment Sony is ahead but with several months before launch, it’d be foolish for them to rest on their laurels and ignore the powerhouse Microsoft marketing machine.
